Forgot Password - How to Reset Your MacBook Air
Introduction
If you've forgotten your MacBook Air login password, follow these steps to reset it. This guide covers both newer and older Mac models. For additional details, refer to Apple's password reset guide.
Verifying You're at the Login Window
To start the password reset process, ensure you're at the login window, which appears after restarting or logging out of your Mac. Look for the Shut Down, Restart, and Sleep buttons to confirm this. If you see a Switch User button, click it to reach the login window. If the window isn't visible, turn off your Mac by holding the power button (or Touch ID) for 10 seconds, then turn it back on.
