There are three ways to transfer photos between Google accounts.
Method A: Download, then Upload to new account
If you still have the original photos and videos on your computer and/or on all other devices such as phones and tablets, you can re-upload the photos into another Google account. At this link are various ways to upload to Google Photos.
If you no longer have the original photos and your photo collection exists only online at Google Photos, you'll need to first download all your photos and videos from Google Photos to a computer. At this link are various ways to download photos and videos.
Notes:
- "Captions" added in Picasa Web Albums or "Descriptions" added in Google Photos get lost except when downloading using Picasa3. Edit: downloading using Picasa3 has been disabled by Google.
- Takeout downloads original and edited copies. All other methods transfer only edited copies
- The same photos may be found in self-made albums and dated albums under "Auto Backup" in Album Archive which may result in duplicates when you use "Takeout"
- Dates changed in Google Photos (for example to correct order) are lost.
Method B: Share Albums
- Get a shareable link in account A
See Share photos & videos on the Google Photos help page
- Go to another browser (or change users in Chrome, or sign off/on) so that you are signed in to account B
As an alternative you can email the shared link to account B.
- Open the "Shareable link"
- Click the icon with cloud and down arrow ("Add to library")
The photos are now added to the library of account B.
- When you want to transfer albums, add the photos immediately to an album.
- If desired, go back to account A and delete the photos (in the album: 3-dots > Move to trash)
Notes:
- Photos in "Archive" of account A will NOT be shared.
- "Descriptions" added in Google Photos or "Captions" added in Picasa Web Albums are not lost
- When a date/time was changed, the changed date is also transferred.
- Please have a backup of your entire collection in case anything should go wrong while sharing.
Warning: There have been reports of reduced pixel count when using "Add to library." It seems that the smaller copies are replaced by larger copies in the shared album after some time. Be sure to check the pixel count before and after adding to library. If the pixel count is too small, wait a few minutes between opening the album and adding to library.
Method C: Share your library
In June 2017 the option to share your entire library with a single other account was introduced. This method can be used to transfer photos between two accounts:
- In account 1: share your library with account 2
- In account 2: accept the invitation and activate "Add to library".
Now all photos from the library of account 1 will be copied to the library of account 2. Deleting photos from account 1 will NOT delete the photos from account 2 after they are added to the library of account 2. Give it enough time to copy everything. It is also wise to have a backup (non-synced copy) before you start.
If you have photos in albums, but also photos that are NOT in albums, you can:
- First transfer the albums by using method B
- Then share the library of account 1 with account 2 like described above.
All photos should be transferred and there should be no duplicates.
Notes:
- Sharing a library seems to work fine to transfer the library, but all "albums" are lost.
- "Descriptions" added in Google Photos or "Captions" added in Picasa Web Albums are also transferred.
- When a date/time was changed, the changed date is also transferred.
- When a photo was edited, an edited copy is transferred, but the original is not (edits cannot be undone)
- Photos that are moved to the "Archive" are not shared.
