How to Set Up Microsoft Authenticator – IT Solver Support

Download the Microsoft Authenticator App

Search for "Microsoft Authenticator" in your device's app store, or use these download links:

Important: Make sure to download the official Microsoft Authenticator app - avoid sponsored or unofficial apps.

On any device, sign into office.com
You'll see an "Action Required" message stating your organization requires additional security information. Click Next to proceed.
- If you don't see this page, visit mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info
- Go to Add sign-in method Authenticator App
Click Next to begin registering the Microsoft Authenticator app
On the next screen, you'll see a QR code
On your mobile device:
- Open Microsoft Authenticator app
- Tap the + (Add Account) button
- Select "Work or School account"
- Choose "Scan QR Code"
Use your phone's camera to scan the QR code shown on your computer screen
Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the setup
